Canadian Medalists at the IPF Worlds-Open Women
By: Alex Mardell
Date: April 21, 2009
The Women's Open Worlds started in 1980. Kali Bogias & Joy Burt are the top women with Burt winning Best Lifter in Belgium in 1992. I guess you could say the Canadian women went through a bit of a dry spell in the overall standing until Rhaea Fowler won Silver 16 years after Burt. I believe Fowler will leave a substantial mark on powerlifting and become the most decorated Canadian woman ever!
The Medal count breakdown: 36 medals (2 bench only 1 Silver & 1 Bronze) (4 individual medals 1 Gold, 2 Silver, 1 Bronze): 30 overall medalists 4 Gold, 11 Silver, & 15 Bronze
Overall Class Winners
*Joy Burt also won a gold medal at the 1989 World Games in the 56-67,5 kg weight category.
Individual Lift Medals through powerlifting (sq, b, or dl)
Bench only IPF Worlds

Alex Mardell (10:44am Apr 21, 2009)I excluded the Arnold results as I believe it is more of a North American championship not Worlds.
